Monaville Road Expected to Reopen Next Week
Monaville Road between Fairfield Road and Cedar Lake Road is anticipated to reopen the week of June 6. The road has been closed since April 13 due to a failed culvert.
The contractor has set the new precast box culvert. After the culvert was set, crews installed reinforcement bars, poured the concrete wall in two stages which cured over the holiday weekend, and installed a waterproof barrier. Efforts are now shifting to getting the road paved and ready to be opened next week. Work will continue onsite after opening to traffic for minor grading, guardrail installation and landscaping.
We thank everyone for their patience and the contractor that has worked in the rain and on weekends to keep the project moving forward.
The detour route remains in effect until the road is reopened.
DETOUR ROUTE: Cedar Lake Road to Rollins Road to Fairfield Road. Local traffic will have access from Fairfield Road east of the culvert. The road near the culvert is closed to all traffic.
