Celebrate Spring by Attending The County Festivals
Spring festivals in Lake County feature the most delectable eats, eclectic live music, radiant works of art and libations. Whether or not we base our meteorology off of a ground-dwelling mammal that can locate his or her shadow and predict the weather is moot now. Experience the fanfare of our warming season as we provide you with the guide to spring festivals in Lake County.

Kudos to Canine Ryker!

Ryker

Lake County Sheriff’s Office canine Ryker and deputies recently helped to locate a woman through heavy marshy conditions in a channel of Lake Marie. The woman was hypothermic due to being in the water and soaking wet for about one to two hours.

Deputies worked with the Antioch Fire Protection District, who arrived and were able to rescue the woman through the watery and marshy conditions and transport her to a hospital, where she is expected to recover.

This is another impeccable example of the work by our Sheriff's deputies and canine teams to provide life-saving work.

“Working with the Lake County Forest Preserves to remove buckthorn is important for both the maintenance of our property at Halas Hall and the sustainability of the Middlefork Savanna area,” said John Bostrom, Chicago Bears senior advisor of operations & safety. “We hope this partnership can help educate our fellow neighbors and fans in the area on the environmental impact this invasive species can have so they too can take action.” Learn more »
