New Legislation For Elections!

Voters in line

Starting June 1, 2022 when a school serves as a polling place on Election Day an E-learning day may be selected. This was legislation that Clerk O’Connor pursued to give schools selected as polling sites to have another option for their students. We are grateful for Representative Mayfield for her sponsorship of this important bill.

2022 Point in Time Count

Point in Time

For the second time Clerk O'connor served in the "Point of Time Count" offered through the Lake County Homeless Coalition. This is an annual event when volunteers count and interview people experiencing homelessness. It is crucial for the county to measure the needs of our community and possibilities of aid from of our homeless service system. County Clerk Robin O’Connor and County Clerk staff member Brandon Fuchs participated in this annual event in January.

Love Conquers Snow on 2-2-22, 2-22-22 To Come On A Tuesday!

Shellie and Semisha

Some fun news from our Vital Records department which among other things handles Marriage Licenses:

On 2-2-22 despite the snowstorm and talks of Illinois potentially declaring of a State of Emergency, love couldn’t be defeated as 19 weddings occurred on this date. This compared to the three marriages for 2-1-22.

Two lake county residents, Shellie and Semisha, were among the many celebrating the rare chance at a unique date for their wedding.

As Tuesday, 2-22-22 is just around the corner it’s expected that even more will be embracing the possibility to come as the SECOND 2’s Day of the 2nd Month of 2022 also lands ON a Tuesday.
