On Friday, February 11th at 1pm via Zoom, join Illinois State Treasurer Michael Frerichs as he goes over the Charitable Trust Fund available to non-profit organizations.
For the Spring 2022 grant cycle, applications will be accepted from January 2 through March 31 in three categories: Food Programs, Housing Programs, and Workforce and Economic Development. Charitable Trust is intended to help small non-profits with annual budgets of $1 million or less. Learn about how and when to apply and meet previous Lake County recipients!

For mobile home owners, Friday, February 25th by 5pm is the last day to pay your mobile home property taxes to avoid a lien. Payments must be certified funds only and can be paid in person or by mail, but must be in-office by 2/25 (not postmarked). |
The Senior Citizens Real Estate Tax Deferral is a State of Illinois program that allows qualified senior citizens to defer up to $5000 yearly to pay property taxes on their personal residence at a 6% simple interest per year. For more information, please visit our page on the Senior Citizen Tax Deferral Program. All applications must be completed and notarized by March 1, 2022.
Be sure you are checking to see if you qualify for any property tax exemptions this year, as there are several exemptions available to provide tax relief to homeowners. There is property tax relief in homestead exemptions for Seniors, Veterans, and Disabled Persons, and a General Homestead Exemption that most owner-occupied residences can receive.

 The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day event in North Chicago is a reminder that many minority communities have benefitted from the actions of the civil rights movement of the 1960s. We continue to honor Dr. King's legacy by continuing to march forward arm in arm lest we stop moving and go backward.
