Update on Open Burning Restrictions in Unincorporated Lake County
The Lake County Public Works, Planning and Transportation (PWPT) Committee recommended the approval of an ordinance to enact permanent open burning restrictions for unincorporated areas of Lake County at its meeting this week. In addition to the ordinance, franchise waste hauler agreements to provide consolidated waste hauling services in unincorporated areas within certain townships were also recommended for approval by the PWPT Committee and the Financial and Administration (F&A) Committee.
Now, the ordinance and agreement drafts are proceeding to the full Lake County Board meeting on Jan. 11, 2022, for final action. If approved on Jan. 11, the ordinance would go into effect on June 1, 2022 to coincide with the start of consolidated waste hauling services.
The public is invited to attend the Lake County Board meeting at 9 a.m. on Jan. 11.
