Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to Close for Repairs to Railroad Crossing


North Chicago, IL – The Union Pacific Railway has notified the Lake County Division of Transportation it will be closing the railroad crossing on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive at the Union Pacific Railroad east of US Route 41 for repairs. The closure will begin at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2 and is scheduled to reopen by 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4.

Local traffic will be allowed on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive from IL 131/Green Bay Road west to the railroad crossing. The railroad crossing will be closed to all traffic.

Detour Route: US Route 41 to IL 137 to Green Bay Road.
