Water Street Vaccination Site Transitions to Walk-In Model

102 W. Water Street Vaccination Site in Waukegan will operate
on Sundays as a walk-in vaccination site.

Lake County, Ill. — The Lake County Health Department is announcing that the Regional Vaccination Site at 102 W. Water Street in Waukegan will transition to walk-in service only as of July 11, 2021, and will no longer function as a drive-through site. The Water Street site will only operate on Sundays from 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Residents can make an appointment online or walk up to the site for a vaccine.

“There are many ways to get vaccinated throughout Lake County,” said Mark Pfister, Executive Director at the Lake County Health Department. “All three authorized vaccines are extremely safe and effective. As variant cases become more prevalent in the United States, we urge every resident to do their part to protect themselves and others.”

The Water Street site provides all three vaccines authorized in the United States—Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson—depending on the current supply available. Residents may simply walk in and register on-site at the Water Street location, or they can schedule an appointment through the Lake County AllVax Portal, https://AllVax.lakecohealth.org or by calling (847) 377-8130. Street parking for the Water Street vaccination site is available on both Water and Genesee Streets.
