Walk-in COVID-19 Vaccinations Available at More Lake County Locations

Sites are closed Sunday for Mother’s Day

Lake County, Ill. — Getting your COVID-19 vaccine in Lake County has never been easier. Many community vaccination sites are offering walk-in service with no appointment needed.

Lake County Fairgrounds (1060 E. Peterson Rd., Grayslake):

Next week, the hours of operation at the Lake County Fairgrounds will shift to early mornings and evenings to accommodate those who may not be able to visit the site during weekday business hours.  

 Hours of operation at the Fairgrounds (by appointment or walk-in):

  • Friday, May 7: 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 8: 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Monday, May 10: 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Wednesday, May 12: 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Friday, May 14: 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Saturday, May 15: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Eligibility: Ages 16+, Illinois residents, and residents of other states who work in Lake County, Illinois

Vaccine Supply: Both Pfizer and Moderna are provided at the Fairgrounds site, and Johnson & Johnson vaccine is available by request. Pfizer is guaranteed for ages 16-17 and is the only vaccine authorized for that age group.

Regional Vaccination Site (102 W. Water St., Waukegan):

Hours of operation at the Regional Vaccination Site (by appointment or walk-in):

  • Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays: 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • NOTE: Closed on Sunday, May 9 for Mother’s Day

Eligibility: Ages 16+, Illinois residents, and residents of other states who work in Lake County, Illinois

Vaccine Supply: Pfizer is currently provided at the Regional Vaccination Site.

Round Lake Beach (Former K-Mart Supercenter, 400 E. Rollins Rd.):

Walk-in hours at the Round Lake Beach site:

  • Tuesdays through Sundays: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • NOTE: Closed on Sunday, May 9 for Mother’s Day

Zion Community Clinic Sites:

Walk-in hours are as follows:

  • Zion-Benton Township High School New Tech Campus (1634 23rd St., Zion):
    Mondays and Tuesdays: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Former K-Mart plaza (3363 Sheridan Rd., Zion):
    Wednesdays and Thursdays: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Vaccine Supply: Pfizer is currently provided at the Zion Community Clinic sites.

Additional Information:

COVID-19 vaccines are free to all, regardless of insurance or immigration status. All sites listed above are vaccinating ages 16 and older. Minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Vaccine supply may change, and Pfizer vaccine is only guaranteed for those ages 16-17. All three vaccines authorized in the United States are incredibly safe and effective.

The Lake County Health Department is now providing the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine by appointment to its Community Health Center patients, Illinois residents, and residents of other states who work in Lake County, Illinois. Locations include the Grand Avenue Health Center in Waukegan, Midlakes Health Center in Round Lake, North Shore Health Center in Highland Park, and Zion Health Center in Zion. There are many locations to get the COVID-19 vaccine, including many retail pharmacies now offering walk-ins. Visit www.lakecountyil.gov/vaccine for more information. Check with your healthcare provider for availability at your doctor’s office or to discuss any concerns you have about getting the vaccine.
