UPDATE: Adult-Use Cannabis Businesses in Unincorporated Lake County
On April 28, the Lake County Public Works, Planning and Transportation (PWPT) Committee discussed proposed zoning amendments that would permit adult-use cannabis businesses in unincorporated Lake County subject to certain restrictions. The meeting was recorded and can be viewed online.

Lake County staff will present details on the proposed amendments that include modifications based on the recommendations made by the PWPT Committee and the Lake County Zoning Board of Appeals. All interested residents are invited to the meeting and can register to attend through Zoom. Pending a PWPT Committee recommendation on the proposed amendments on May 5, the topic will move to the Lake County Board meeting for final action on Tuesday, May 11.
Individuals attending remotely/virtually may provide public comment during the PWPT meeting on May 5. Individuals not in attendance may provide written public comment that must be received by 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 4 by email to publiccomment@lakecountyil.gov or delivered to the County Board Office, 18 N.
