Health Department Announces Baxter-Sponsored COVID-19 Vaccination Site in Round Lake Beach

Multiple sites opening in Lake County as Illinois COVID-19 vaccine eligibility expands

Lake County, Ill. — The Lake County Health Department and partners Baxter and Curative are pleased to announce the opening of a new COVID-19 vaccination site on April 20, 2021, in Round Lake Beach, Illinois. The new site, located at 400 E Rollins Rd (the former K-Mart Supercenter) will offer indoor COVID-19 vaccinations by appointment to all who live or work in Lake County, Illinois, ages 16 and older, at no cost. When vaccine supply allows the facility to reach its peak capacity of 5,000 vaccinations per day, this will be the largest vaccination site in the county.

“We are thrilled to announce this location for COVID-19 vaccinations, a culmination of extensive planning and collaboration with our partners,” said Mark Pfister, Executive Director at the Lake County Health Department. “This site will improve access for those who live and work in Lake County to receive a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine, the best tool we have to protect our families and communities.”

Vaccinations will be offered by appointment only, Tuesdays through Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Residents may schedule appointments at cur.tv/lakeco.

People who are registered in AllVax, Lake County’s COVID-19 vaccination portal, and opted in to share their registration information with vaccination partners may also be contacted by Curative to schedule an appointment at the Round Lake Beach site.

Additional Vaccinations Sites in Lake County

 Over the past several months, the Lake County Health Department has been working with community partners to plan and open additional vaccination sites throughout the county. At all locations, there is no cost to get your vaccination. Some sites may bill health insurance, but health insurance is not required. Registration varies by site, please see details below. Please note, all vaccination sites continue to be by appointment only. Some sites are only scheduling appointments through local outreach. Check the Health Department’s vaccine web page for information on sites that are offering public registration for appointments.

The Regional Vaccination Site at 102 W. Water Street, Waukegan, offers both drive-through and walk-through appointments on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, scheduled through the AllVax system. The site is operated by the Lake County Health Department with the support of the Illinois National Guard, and primarily offers the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccine, if supply is available.

The Patty Turner Center at 375 Elm Street, Deerfield, is currently offering appointments to AllVax registrants by email and text message invitations, and also offers scheduling on the Doctors Test Center (DTC) website at https://www.doctorstestcenters.com/vaccine. The site is operated by DTC, in partnership with the Health Department, Village of Deerfield and Deerfield Park District. Please do not contact the Patty Turner Center for appointments.

Catholic Charities at 116 Lincoln Avenue, Round Lake, is currently providing vaccinations on Saturdays by appointment. Community partners are scheduling appointments through local outreach efforts. This site is operated by Doctors Test Center, in partnership with the Health Department and Catholic Charities. Please do not contact Catholic Charities for appointments.

Christ Church of Grayslake at 1350 IL-137, Grayslake, is currently providing vaccinations on Saturdays by appointment. The church is scheduling appointments through local outreach efforts and may contact AllVax registrants for appointments in the future. This site is operated by Christ Church volunteers, in partnership with the Health Department. Please do not contact Christ Church Grayslake for appointments.

The Lake County Fairgrounds at 1060 E Peterson Road, Grayslake, continues to provide vaccinations by appointment through the AllVax system. This site is operated by the Lake County Health Department, with support of the Illinois National Guard. As of April 12, the site has transitioned to offer exclusively walk-through appointments.

A site at 3363 Sheridan Road, Zion, will be opening on April 26, operated by Passport Health, in partnership with the Health Department and Lake County Partners. More details will be announced in the coming weeks. 

To register in the AllVax system, please visit AllVax.lakecohealth.org. Residents needing assistance registering in AllVax can call (847) 377-8130 or email AllVax@lakecountyil.gov. Registrants are encouraged to opt-in to allow the Health Department to share their registration information with vaccination partners, as this opens additional opportunities to schedule vaccination appointments.

Additional pop-up vaccination clinics are being held across Lake County through local organizations and pharmacies. The Health Department encourages residents to explore their vaccination options and take the first available appointment. In addition to registering in AllVax, people can use the Illinois Vaccine Locator, check with their healthcare provider, or take advantage of many community vaccination sites available.
