WAUKEGAN, Illinois – Lake County Clerk, Robin O’Connor, is excited to inform Lake County Voters that we will be placing Drop Boxes in each Early Voting site starting Monday, March 22,2021.
There are sixteen Early Voting sites. Please look at the Early Voting sites listed below. We will be following the protocol that we introduced in the November 2020 General Election. Voters may simply walk in with their masks and place their Vote by Mail ballot in any of these Drop Boxes located at each Early Voting site. This new update offers voters an opportunity to utilize the Vote by Mail program Postage FREE. This option was reviewed and it was decided by Clerk O’Connor that these drop boxes are in accordance with State Law.
External Drop Boxes are currently not being offered for this election, until new State Legislation provides this option. The Lake County Clerk will keep you posted on any new developments of external drop box availability.
We are thankful that our voters are flexible and understanding as we still operate under the umbrella of the pandemic. Clerk O’Connor continues to align the goals of safe and secure voting with all of the voting options provided:
Vote In-Person at an Early Voting sites of your choice, Vote by Mail using US postal service or postage free drop boxes, or Vote In person on Election Day

- public questions on the ballot;
- Voter Information Guide;
- your personalized sample ballot;
- voter registration options still available and acceptable forms of identification;
- all 16 early voting sites, times and dates; and
- your assigned Election Day voting site.
