Lynell Glover, 35, of Round Lake Beach, was indicted on first-degree murder charges Wednesday.

(Lake County, IL) A Round Lake Beach man was indicted on first-degree murder charges Wednesday, after allegedly shooting and killing a 17-year-old from Carol Stream on Jan. 3 during a confrontation in a Volo parking lot, according to the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Lynell P. Glover, 35, of the 2300 block of North Old Pond Lane, Round Lake Beach, was indicted by a Lake County Grand Jury on three counts of first-degree murder Wednesday. If found guilty, Glover could be sentenced to a prison term of 51 years to life.

The investigation into the case determined that Glover’s vehicle had been stolen several days prior to the confrontation, which began when Glover saw his vehicle, with two people inside, driving in the area of Route 12 and Route 120.

The vehicle was occupied by two 17-year-old males of Carol Stream, according to officials, and the two attempted to flee from Glover, but the vehicle ran out of gas as the teens were pulling into a parking lot in the 30400 block of Route 12.

A struggle ensued between all three males, at which time Glover allegedly discharged a firearm several times, killing one of the 17-year-olds and injuring the other.

Glover sustained minor non-gunshot wounds and did not need medical treatment. He remained at the scene after calling police, and was brought in for questioning by sheriff’s deputies.

Glover is being held in Lake County Jail with his bail set at $1 million. His arraignment is scheduled Feb. 8 before Lake County Circuit Court Judge Mark Levitt in Courtroom T712 at 9 a.m.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
