The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that as part of ongoing improvements on Grand Ave. (IL 132) between Skokie Highway (US 41) and Waveland Ave. in Gurnee, a full closure will take place on Grand Ave. beginning, weather permitting, Tuesday, Dec. 1. The closure is necessary to demolish the Union Pacific Railroad temporary bridge.
The road is scheduled to reopen on Monday, Dec. 7 at 5 a.m. A detour will direct traffic to Skokie Highway, Washington St. and Green Bay Road (IL 131). More Information.
