Lake County Transportation Updates

Grass Lake and Millburn Road Resurfacing: November 23, 2020

Crews placed a special asphalt mix on the Millburn Road Bridge. Applied at over 450 degrees, the mix has a rubber additive that allows the pavement to be more flexible and move with the bridge deck. Bridge guardrail will be installed in the next few weeks.

Sidewalk installation and paving of the new bike path is complete except where utilities are being relocated. Final landscaping has been installed throughout the project except for a few areas where minor grading work is taking place.

Preparations for winter are underway. Work zone speed limits will be removed in the coming weeks. Crews will begin working on the Main St. culvert when the gas company has relocated its gas main. Main St. south of Millburn Road will be resurfaced in the spring of 2021.

Traffic Impacts: Watch for workers, flaggers and trucks coming in and out of the job site. Work zone speed limits will be removed once work is done for 2020.
