Updated Information: The contractor has requested additional time to complete installation of additional pavement at the intersection of Jackson Street and 14th Street. The road is now scheduled to open in mid-November, weather dependent. This is approximately one week later than originally anticipated. Once this work is complete, the full intersection of 14th Street and Jackson Street will be paved and smooth for winter.
Original Detour Notice:
North Chicago, IL: The Lake County Division of Transportation, in coordination with the City of North Chicago, will be closing Jackson Street to through traffic one block north and one block south of 14th Street. 14th Street will remain open to all east-west traffic. The closure will begin on Tuesday, October 13 at 6 a.m. and the road will be closed for four weeks. This closure is necessary to complete pavement reconstruction prior to the winter season. DETOUR ROUTE: From the north, 13th Street to Lincoln Street to 15th Street. From the south, 15th Street to Victoria Avenue to 13th Street.
