Grayslake, IL – Metra has informed the Lake County Division of Transportation that it will be closing Alleghany Road to through traffic from Peterson Road to IL Route 120. The road closure is necessary for Metra to repair the existing railroad crossing. The road closure will begin Wednesday, August 26 at 6 a.m. and will reopen Friday, September 4 in the late afternoon.
Detour Route: Peterson Road, to IL Route 83, to IL Route 137, to IL Route 120. Local traffic will be allowed from Peterson Road to the Metra railroad crossing and from IL Route 120 to the Metra railroad crossing. The railroad crossing will be closed to all traffic.
