The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that a full closure will take place on Grand Ave. (IL 132) east of the Skokie Highway (US 41) beginning, weather permitting, Thursday, July 9 at 7 p.m. The closure is necessary to erect steel beams for the new Union Pacific Railroad bridge as part of the ongoing improvement on IL 132 between US 41 and Waveland Ave.
The work is expected to be completed by 5 a.m. Monday, July 13. At that time, IL 132
will resume to one lane in each direction between US 41 and Waveland Ave.
A detour will direct traffic to US 41, Washington St. and Green Bay Road (IL 131). More Information
