New Location: Lake County Regional Office of Education
The Lake County Regional Office of Education's (ROE) Administrative Office and Truancy Division has moved and is now located at the Lake County Central Permit Facility, 500 W. Winchester Road, Libertyville.
"We're pleased to announce that this move will save the County approximately $98,000 annually in rent and utility costs," said Lake County Board Chair Sandy Hart. "We will continue to look for opportunities to utilize existing County-owned facilities wherever possible in an effort to save taxpayers significant dollars."
The Lake County ROE's Administrative Office and Attendance and Truancy Division were recently located at the College of Lake County in Grayslake. The Educational Services Division remains at the College of Lake County, and the Regional Safe School Program remains in Zion.
"We would like to thank the College of Lake County for being such gracious hosts over the years," said Roycealee Wood, Regional Superintendent of Schools. "We look forward to continuing to serve our Lake County school system, and are here to help prepare for what will an unprecedented school year."
Even with the move, all Lake County ROE offices are continuing to operate remotely due to COVID-19. Individuals in need of assistance are encouraged to contact the Lake County ROE through phone or email. Contact information for each of the Lake County ROE's locations can be found at lake.k12.il.us.
The Lake County ROE provides service for the nearly 275 schools, and approximately 15,000 teachers, substitutes, administrators, paraprofessionals, and school service personnel in Lake County. Services range from professional development for educators and running background checks for those applying for jobs at schools, to administering the Truancy and Dropout Prevention Program and issuing building permits for all school building projects.
