SBA Loans Available to Lake County Small Businesses and Communities Damaged by Civil Unrest
Businesses, homeowners, renters, and non-profits impacted by civil unrest in Lake County may be eligible for disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Governor JB Pritzker today announced the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has approved the state’s request for federal assistance, which makes low-interest loans available.
Loans up to $2 million are available to businesses for the repair or replacement of real estate, inventories, equipment and other physical losses. Homeowners can borrow up to $200,000 for real estate, and homeowners and renters may borrow up to $40,000 for personal property.
Applications for loans are available now and can be found on SBA’s website. Loan applications can also be downloaded from sba.gov/disaster. For more information on eligibility, loan amounts, applications deadlines and other requirements, view this Fact Sheet.
In order to accommodate with the coronavirus health guidance, a Virtual Disaster Loan Outreach Center has been established by the SBA to provide additional information and loan assistance. Applicants can also receive one-on-one assistance via phone, Skype, and webinars. Virtual customer support representatives can help applicants complete their applications and answer questions related to the application process.
