March 25, 2020
Dear residents,
In a social media world and in a state of heightened anxiety, it is very easy for rumors, partial truths, or even outright falsehoods to spread quickly and pervasively. Thank you for taking the time to seek out information from the Lake County Health Department; for sharing these messages with others; and for heeding the Governor's 'Stay at Home' order and doing your part to help us slow the spread of COVID-19.
We hope you will find this edition of our newsletter useful—from a new interactive dashboard where you can see how COVID-19 is impacting our communities, the simple guide on the 'Do's and Don'ts of Social Distancing', and a short video from a Health Department counselor to help your family cope with the stress you may be feeling due to the pandemic.

What Does the Stay at Home Order Mean for You?
On Friday, March 20, Governor Pritzker issued an Executive Order requiring all Illinoisans to stay in their homes to prevent the further spread of COVID-19. While Lake County residents can still go to grocery stores, put gas in their cars, take walks outside, make pharmacy runs, visit healthcare facilities, and get food for take-out and delivery, it is important for people to stay home and to cease all non-essential personal and business activities.
We understand you might have questions as to what this means for you. View answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about the Stay at Home Order. Also available in Spanish, Chinese, Hindi, Polish, and Arabic.
