Statement of Economic Interests Filing

Per the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act, elected and appointed officials and local government employees who have the authority to authorize the expenditure of public funds, execute contracts, and issue licenses and permits, are required to file a Statement of Economic Interests form with our office. In the upcoming months, Lake County’s units of government will be working on identifying all required Statement of Economic Interests filers.

By February 1, 2020, all local Lake County governmental units will submit a certified list of names to our office that identifies the persons in their organization required to file a Statement of Economic Interests. We will advise all the listed individuals of their filing requirement and the statutory May 1, 2020 deadline.

To ensure accountability and transparency, the Statement of Economic Interests seeks the disclosure of a filer’s relevant activities and financial information occurring during the immediately preceding calendar year.

For more details, visit our Statement of Economic Interests web page.

This option allows any registered voter to receive and mark a ballot from the comfort of his or her own home or have a ballot sent to a temporary alternate address.

It's simple to vote by mail. Complete the short, required application form and return it to the Lake County Clerk’s office before noon on Thursday, March 12.

Online or paper applications are available by:

Your completed application must arrive at the Lake County Clerk’s office before noon on Thursday, March 12, 2020.

Pending state certification of the candidates, ballots will be printed and mailed beginning February 6. You only have to walk as far as your mailbox for your ballot and vote from the comfort of your own couch. Mail your voted ballot back to the Lake County Clerk’s office with a postmark no later than Election Day, March 17. You can track the Lake County Clerk’s receipt of your ballot at LakeVoterPower.info using the “Track My Ballot” feature.
