Presenters Wanted!

The Lake County Stormwater Management Commission (SMC) is looking for presenters for the 2020 DECI Workshop.

Each year, we strive to provide our attendees with helpful, practical and real world DECI related information. If you or someone you know would be a great presenter on a relevant and interesting topic, please apply. Presentations should be between 30-45 minutes.

The deadline to submit a topic is December 31, 2019.

The following topics were requests from DECI attendees in the after workshop survey, but any DECI and SESC related subjects will be considered:

  • Step by step inspection walk through
  • Case studies for different projects (highlight successes and challenges)
  • Steep slope stabilization
  • Best Management Practices in tight work areas
  • Winter maintenance
  • Treatment trains
  • Water quality designs
  • Site phasing and sequencing
  • Culvert replacements and their associated challenges
  • Streambank Restoration and Maintenance and Ravine Work
  • DECI and Site Superintendent work relationship: how can they help and support each other

There are great benefits to presenting at the DECI workshop! The top 5 reasons are:

  2. Celebrate your accomplishments and share your project challenges
  3. Connect and share your work knowledge with your peers
  4. Present innovative ideas, technology and solutions to a large audience
  5. Showcase your public speaking skills

Send your presentation topic to Mea Blauer at iblauer2@lakecountyil.gov or (847) 377-7701.
