Note to readers: There is a clarification regarding the timeline for this project. The project is scheduled to begin Sept. 9. The contractor will perform storm sewer and driveway culvert pipe replacement, along with curb and gutter replacement over the next few weeks. The project is expected to be completed in spring 2020, weather permitting.
The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) is installing bike-friendly shoulders and resurfacing Fairfield Rd and Wilson Rd in Round Lake, Round Lake Beach, Round Lake Heights, and Lake Villa. The sections of this project include:
- Fairfield Rd from Nippersink Rd to IL 134
- Fairfield Rd from Monaville Rd to IL 132
- Wilson Rd from IL 60 to IL 120
- Wilson Rd from IL 120 to Litchfield Dr
Coming weeks: The contractor will perform storm sewer and driveway culvert pipe replacement, along with curb and gutter replacement.
Traffic Impacts: All four sections of the project will be impacted by this work. Watch for workers and flaggers. Expect delays.
Fairfield Rd and Wilson Rd Resurfacing
Limits: Fairfield Rd from Nippersink Rd to IL 132 in Round Lake, Round Lake Beach, Round Lake Heights, and Lake Villa. Wilson Road from IL 60 to north of IL 120 near Round Lake.
Description: This project consists of asphalt resurfacing and the installation of bike-friendly shoulders.
