Low-Cost Pet Vaccination and Microchip Clinics Offered to Lake County Pet Owners

Lake County, Ill.—The Lake County Health Department’s Animal Care and Control program is offering its final three low-cost pet vaccination and microchip clinics of 2019. These clinics provide a convenient and affordable way for Lake County residents to keep their pets up to date with shots, rabies tags, and microchips.

Antioch/Lake Villa Township Vaccination Clinic:

  • August 10, 9:00 a.m. to noon
  • Location: Antioch Township Building (1625 Deep Lake Road, Lake Villa).

Grayslake Police Department Vaccination Clinic:

  • September 7, 9:00 a.m. to noon
  • Location: Village of Grayslake Building (10 South Seymour Avenue, Grayslake).

Beach Park Vaccination Clinic:

  • October 5, 9:00 a.m. to noon
  • Location: Milton C. Jensen Public Works Facility (40185 Glendale Avenue, Beach Park).

 

Standard vaccine, tag and microchip costs for the clinics are as follows: 

For Pets Spayed/Neutered*

One-year rabies vaccination and Lake County tag: $20.00
One-year rabies vaccination, distemper, and Lake County tag: $25.00
Distemper complex only: $10.00
Microchip: $15.00

*Proof of spay/neuter required at time of service

For Pets Not Spayed/Neutered

One-year rabies vaccination and Lake County tag: $60.00
One-year rabies vaccination, distemper, and Lake County tag: $65.00
Distemper complex only: $10.00
Microchip: $15.00


Pets will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. All animals brought to the clinic must be at least four months old. Dogs must be leashed and cats placed in carriers. Only cash will be accepted on site.

The Health Department's Animal Care and Control Program tracks pet vaccinations and rabies tags, investigates animal bites and complaints of nuisance and neglect, and impounds stray animals. In 2018, the Health Department provided nine vaccination clinics, vaccinating a total of 2,427 animals. Animal wardens are available to provide free informational programs to community groups about animal behavior and wildlife interaction. The Animal Care and Control facility is located at 18736 West Peterson Road, Libertyville.
