Project Website
Limits: From north of Lake Cook Road (Woodstone Drive) to south of Deerfield Parkway
Description: The Weiland Road Improvements Project will increase highway user safety, improve capacity and operation, replace aging infrastructure, and enhance the regional roadway network. Because of high traffic volumes, the reconstruction of Weiland Road will include the widening of the roadway to two lanes in each direction with a center turn lane. In addition, a bike path will be built on the west side and a sidewalk on the east side.
The existing culvert under Weiland Road at Aptakisic Creek will be replaced and a new detention pond will be constructed on the east side of Weiland Road between Pauline Avenue and Pope Boulevard. Installation of street lights will increase visibility, and a noise abatement wall will be constructed on the west side of Weiland Road north of Newtown Drive.
