Waukegan, Illinois - Lake County Clerk Robin O'Connor invites all interested parties to witness the Canvassing of Votes for the April 2, 2019 Consolidated Election on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the Lake County Clerk’s office, 18 N. County Street, Room 101, Waukegan, Illinois.
This Canvass is the certification of the final election results for all early, vote by mail, provisional, and Election Day ballots cast in the April 2, 2019 Consolidated Election.
After the polls closed on election night, totals for vote by mail ballots received before April 2, early voting, and Election Day ballots were posted on the Lake County Clerk's website as "Unofficial Results." Illinois statute requires the election authority to wait 14 days after the election (Tuesday, April 16) to allow for late arriving vote by mail ballots that were postmarked by Election Day and processing of provisional ballots issued during the election.
Immediately following the Canvass, April's online election results will be updated to "Official Results" when the additional totals for the provisional and late arriving vote by mail ballots are added.
