Voting Options for April 2, 2019 Consolidated Election

WAUKEGAN, Illinois – Lake County Clerk Robin M. O'Connor reminds voters to exercise your constitutional right and show the power in your voice by voting in the upcoming April 2, 2019 Consolidated Election. It's never been easier to cast a ballot as you can choose the way you want to vote - by mail, early, or on Election Day - without any qualifying reasons or excuses.

Voting by Mail is an ideal choice for everyone as busy schedules or bad weather could stop you from getting to the voting site. Since your ballot can be mailed to any address, this option is especially helpful for snowbirds, students away at school, and those with little free time because of long hours at work. You only need to walk as far as your mailbox to cast your ballot. Submit a simple electronic or paper application form to the Lake County Clerk’s office by noon on Thursday, March 28. Your voted ballot must be returned with a postmark no later than Election Day, and you can track the Lake County Clerk's receipt of your ballot online.

Early Voting continues through Saturday, March 30 at all 16 early voting sites. In case you need more time, four of the sites will remain open on Sunday, March 30 and Monday, April 1.  Regardless of where you live in Lake County, you may use the early voting site that is most convenient - near your home, office, or on the way to the grocery store.

Election Day is Tuesday, April 2, and sites will be open from 6 AM to 7 PM. On Election Day, you must go to your assigned neighborhood voting site.

If you still need to register or update your record with a new name and address, Grace Registration is available at any early or your assigned Election Day voting site. Applicants are required to meet all age, citizenship, and residency requirements; present valid identification; and vote at the time of registration. You can register and vote if you are currently 17 years old and celebrate your 18th birthday on or before the April 2, 2019 Consolidated Election.
