Keeping Lake County Safe
November 2018
Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I'd like to remind you that if you are headed out of town, and reside in our service area, consider requesting a House Watch. Random checks of your residence will be provided as time permits and we'll have your contact information if you need to be reached.
If you are interested in requesting a House Watch, contact our 911 Communications Center at 847-549-5200. They will ask you a series of questions to establish the House Watch.
Sincerely,
Sheriff Mark Curran
Thanksgiving traffic safety patrols begin Friday, November 16 and run through Monday, November 26, 2018. Funding for this traffic safety campaign is made possible through a grant provided by the U.S. Department of Transportation and the National Highway Administration, and is administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
Thanksgiving Eve is fast becoming one of the biggest drinking days of the year. We urge those who intend to drink on Thanksgiving Eve or any other day, to arrange for a designated driver or other means to get home safely. The Lake County Sheriff's Office wants everyone to make it to the table on Thanksgiving Day. Extra deputies will be on the roads to ensure motorists arrive safely to their destination.

Thank you to all who participated in the DEA Drug Take Back on Saturday, October 27. The amount of prescription medicine dropped off totaled 537 pounds.
Remember, the Sheriff’s Office and local law enforcement agencies provide drug disposal boxes at locations across Lake County where your unwanted and expired prescription drugs can be disposed safely year round. Find a drug disposal box near you.

Lake County Crime Stoppers has initiated a new web-based system of accepting tips.
The new P3Tips software allows residents to use the Internet or their mobile devices to submit anonymous tips. You can now submit your tip at www.P3Tips.com and click on the “Submit a New Tip” tab. Once a tip is submitted, residents receive a unique code for that tip. Aside from the convenience of being able to submit tips twenty-four hours a day, the system also allows residents to submit the tip in the language of their choice. Tips can also be submitted through the Lake County Crime Stoppers Webpage at www.lakecountycrimestoppers.com and, of course by calling 847-622-2222.
