Office Closed

The Lake County Recorder of Deeds Office will be closed on Monday, September 3rd in observance of Labor Day.

PTAX Filing - The Future Is Now

Our office utilizes the MyDec system, the free online program which allows you to process real property transfer tax declarations electronically. We encourage ALL of our customers to sign up for MyDec through the Illinois Department of Revenue website at https://mytax.illinois.gov/MyDec When you utilize MyDec, you will be able to create, submit, review, accept, and close transfer tax declarations online. You will be able to track the status of, and make corrections to, a declaration during the recording process. Sign up today!!

Back-to-School

We are honored to partner with Cristo Rey St. Martin College Prep again this school year. Last week we welcomed four students who will intern with us throughout the entire school year! They not only learn the ins and outs of the Recorder’s Office, they learn to establish professional relationships, business communications and become part of our Recorder’s Family.

Cristo Rey St. Martin College Prep is a wonderful part of the Lake County Community and we are proud of our longstanding relationship with them and their students! Have a great year, kids!
