Lake County Responding to Hunger Food Drive and Touch A Truck Event, July 24

Transportation and Public Works employees from Lake County, and many of the surrounding communities are collecting food to feed our hungry neighbors. We are partnering with the American Public Works Association Lake Branch, the Northern Illinois Food Bank, and the Lake County Sheriff's Office for a county-wide food drive! All food donations will be delivered to the Lake County Fairgrounds for a huge Touch A Truck event with all the participating agencies. Admission to the event is free, but we encourage you to bring non-perishable food items to participate in the food drive. Bring the kids to see all their favorite big trucks up close and personal!

Touch A Truck Event:
Tuesday, July 24
9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Lake County Fairgrounds

This food drive will bring to light the vital role Public Works/Transportation employees play as first responders in emergency management. When crisis strikes or emergencies happen, our public works professionals are right there day or night helping respond alongside our police, fire, and medical professionals. In that spirit, help us respond to hunger in our communities by bringing a donation and coming to see some of our response equipment and meet some our public works professionals.
