You must be registered with your current name and address to vote. Check to make sure your voter registration record is correct.
For those who still need to register for the first time or update the name or address on a current record, online registration is available until March 4 through the Illinois State Board of Elections website. An Illinois driver's license or state identification card is required.
Still not ready? Grace registration is available at the County Clerk's office through March 2 weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m, any early voting site when open, or voter's assigned voting site on Election Day.
 Lake County registered voters can log onto LakeVoterPower.info and click on "What's on my Ballot" to view online a personalized sample ballot for the March primary.
Sample ballots may be printed, marked with the voter's choices, and taken into the voting booth for reference while voting.

Lake County’s elections rely on an optical scan system that tabulates the filled-in ovals as the voter casts his/her completed paper ballot into the ballot bin.
This system minimizes the risk of outside cyber interference, allows the Clerk’s office to re-count the paper ballots, and gives the ability to recreate the totals in each and every race on the ballot.
By statute, the Clerk’s office must retain voted ballots for 22 months after an election.
You can choose the best voting method for your busy schedule – by mail, early, or on Election Day.
 An application to receive a ballot by mail is required for each election before a ballot can be sent to the voter. The Clerk’s website offers online and downloadable forms. Your application must be received at the Clerk’s office by March 15, and your voted ballot must be postmarked by midnight on Election Day.
Early voters can use any one of the 15 early voting sites around the county regardless of where they live.
Eleven of the early voting sites are open until Saturday, March 17 on weekdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The four other early voting sites will remain open until Monday, March 19 offering extended weekday evening, Saturday, and Sunday hours.

Voting sites are assigned and open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Registered Lake County voters can log into LakeVoterPower.info to find assigned location, voting site photo, and driving directions.
Unregistered residents can use our Election Day locator tool to find the designated voting site serving their address.

A listing of all early voting sites, dates, hours, and addresses is on the back cover. Election Day voting sites are listed on pages 19 to 23. A printed version of the guide will be delivered in many local newspapers as early as March 1.
Additional copies will also be available at Lake County park districts, libraries, and municipal or township offices.
