Election Day Voting Site Changes

Voting Site

To protect the integrity of the election and to ensure voters’ privacy, it was necessary for us to make 11 voting site changes beginning with the March 2018 primary.

Some buildings previously used as voting sites had scheduling conflicts that would allow the public in the voting room while the polls were open. One structure will be demolished. A few locations requested that they no longer be a polling place.

The impacted voters were notified by mail and sent a revised Certificate of Registration card noting the new voting site name and address. County board members in these precincts were also given notification to pass along to constituents.

Property Tax Prepayments

Property Tax Payments

The Lake County Treasurer's Office is now processing the last of the prepayments that were received for 2017 real estate taxes and will shortly conclude mailing out receipts to taxpayers who submitted a prepayment by mail.

More than 20,000 taxpayers prepaid their property taxes in 2017 because of recent changes in federal tax legislation. This was a record prepayment of taxes in Lake County history.  Many taxpayers waited until the last week of December to prepay their 2017 taxes.
