‘Getting to Zero’ Illinois HIV Town Hall
January 23
Waukegan, Ill. – The Lake County Health Department and Getting to Zero Project partners invite
residents to share their thoughts, ideas and hopes for getting to zero new HIV
infections in Illinois at the Getting to Zero Illinois HIV Town Hall.
The event will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at
the Waukegan Public Library (128 N. County St., Waukegan). Refreshments will be
provided. Transportation assistance and child care are available upon request.
In July 2016, the Lake County Health Department joined together with people
living with HIV, advocates, service providers and government officials to
explore a plan to dramatically impact the course of the HIV epidemic in
Illinois. Over the course of a year, the group developed the Getting
to Zero Framework to guide Illinois towards having zero new HIV infections
and zero people living with HIV who are not receiving treatment.
