Sheriff Curran Announces the 2017 Halloween Traffic Enforcement Campaign

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is conducting extra traffic enforcement beginning Friday, October 27 through Wednesday, November 1. The traffic enforcement campaign includes the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over, Click It Or Ticket and Arrive Alive initiatives.

Sheriff Mark Curran stated, "Attending a Halloween Party is fun, but going to jail for a DUI can be scary. There are so many transportation options available to folks who want to party Halloween weekend and I encourage folks to choose the one that's best for them."

Each year in Illinois, hundreds of lives are lost in alcohol-related crashes. Do not risk losing your license, your car and your freedom. If you drive impaired, law enforcement will arrest you.

The law enforcement crackdown is funded through a grant from the United States Department of Transportation and National Highway Administration. The grant is administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety.

End of Release.
