Were you impacted by the flood? The Multi-Agency Resource Center opens
today in Round Lake Beach where you can connect with the services and resources
you need.
There will be a special PACE bus taking people from the Waukegan
area to the Multi-Agency Resource Center. Catch the bus at Catholic Charities,
671 S. Lewis Ave., Waukegan at the following times:
Today - 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Trip Friday - 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Trip Saturday- 10 a.m. Only
Today, Friday and Saturday, the
American Red Cross, Salvation Army and the Northeast Illinois Community
Organizations Active in Disasters (COAD) will join other disaster service
organizations as part of a Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC).
Residents impacted by the floods
can come to this one-stop, resource center in Round Lake Beach to meet with
trained counselors for resources, obtain housing and insurance information and
other assistance from team representatives. Also, the MARC will offer free in-kind
donations. There will be translators available. Clients will be able to
get information on clean-up assistance and shop for items they may need for
clean-up and recovery. The Lake County
Health Department /Community Health Center will also be on hand to
give free water testing kits to those whose wells are affected by
flooding.

Friday, July 21, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., Lunch and dinner will be provided to clients.
Saturday, July 22, 9 a.m. – noon, Snacks will be provided to clients.
Donation Hotline
The Salvation Army has created a toll-free Donation Hotline
(888-369-1349). If you wish to donate items, you must call the hotline to
determine if your donation is usable specifically for this flood. We are
unable to accept spontaneous donations at the site, therefore you must call the
hotline and use the process that has been set up for this event.
Insurance Questions
The Illinois Department of Insurance will also be on-hand to answer questions
regarding insurance coverage. Bilingual support will be available. For those
not able to attend the MARC, they can call the Department of Insurance Hotline
at 866-445-5364 to get insurance questions answered.
