For those of you that haven't had a chance to meet Kevin Carrier, here is a brief introduction.

Kevin Carrier has been selected as the new Director of Planning & Programming. In his new role, Kevin will be responsible for the planning, programming, and township supervision functions of the Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT). He will help coordinate transportation related activities with our municipal and township partners, as well as the Lake County Forest Preserves. 

As Director, Kevin will lead the team of LCDOT project managers that are responsible for managing the major capital improvement projects from planning, through design and on to construction. The Planning Department staff will also continue to work on enhancing and expanding our non-motorized program, and continue to work with local agencies toward a coordinated paratransit system to serve residents county-wide.

Kevin began working for LCDOT as a design engineer in 2014. While part of the design department, he was responsible for the design of in-house plans, review of consultant prepared plans, and he served as the Pavement Management Coordinator for LCDOT.

Kevin started his civil engineering career at McClure Engineering in Waukegan where he spent 9 years gaining experience in various roles, including Project Manager and Assistant Division Manager. He has a degree in Math and Physics from Augustana College, and a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois.

One of the things Kevin is most looking forward to in his new role is the opportunity to interact with our many partners and the public. He really enjoys fostering relationships and working together to find the safest and most appropriate transportation improvements for the people of Lake County.
