Striving for Clean Water in “Lake County” Lakes
Water quality is impaired in 60 of the lakes in the Des Plaines River Watershed, according to recent assessments. Those impairments may be caused by pollution that flows into the lakes from upstream or surrounding land areas, or by lake management practices that could be improved.
Join us to hear from Mike Adam, Senior Biologist from the Lake County Health Department, and an expert panel of lake associations and committees about practices they are using to best manage their lakes, and talk about opportunities for improvements for all of our lakes:
- Greg Denny, Diamond Lake Preservation Alliance
- Tony Baade, Loch Lomond Property Owners Association
- Tom Morthorst, Third Lake Management Committee
- Rob Flood, Gages Lake Lakes Committee
Meeting Topics of Discussion
- Lakes management plans & programs
- Water quality of our lakes
- Monitoring your lake & mitigating impairments
