Office Hours for Upcoming Holidays

The Lake County Recorder of Deeds Office will be CLOSED on the following days during the upcoming holiday season...

  • Friday, December 23, 2016 - Christmas Eve (observed)
  • Monday, December 26, 2016 - Christmas Day (observed)
  • Monday, January 2, 2017 - New Year's Day (observed)

Please note that our office will be OPEN until 3:00PM on Friday, December 30, 2016 in order to get those end-of-the-year recordings in!


Congratulations

Mary Ellen Vanderventer sworn in (December 2016)

On November 8th, Mary Ellen Vanderventer was re-elected to serve a sixth term as Lake County Recorder of Deeds. Mary Ellen was the highest vote-getter in Lake County and won by a 58% to 42% margin.

On December 1st, Mary Ellen celebrated with her family and her staff; and took her Oath of Office. The Oath was administered by her good friend, The Honorable Judge Patricia Fix.

We have always said that we are the "keepers of history" when it comes to land transactions in Lake County. And while we continue to utilize available technology, we are also reminded of the old-fashioned traditions of our office. We continue to personally answer each and every phone call, greet you with a smile as you enter our office and do our best to provide the best customer service possible!
