It has been a good run for me over the last 25 years representing your interests. Starting out as a Plan Commissioner, serving 20 years as a City of Highland Park Councilman/Mayor Pro Tem, then as a Lake County Forest Preserve Commissioner and Lake County Board Member. Not only was I honored to be elected by the citizens of our community so many times but also honored to work besides dozens of great fellow officials past and present.
Together we were able to produce many positive outcomes and initiate a culture that produced a more responsive government to our citizens concerns and needs. I simply wish to thank you and look forward to continuing to be an active voice alongside you within our community.

 The newly formed Lake
County Mental Health Coalition, co-chaired by Lake County Board Chairman Aaron
Lawlor and the Honorable Susan Garrett (former IL State Senator, 29th
District), recently held its first introductory meeting. The
group had a productive and positive discussion pertaining to community change
as it relates to mental health, development of systems to share data, and the
need to address stigmas associated with mental health. The next steps will be
to identify the mental health services already in place and how we can provide
a unified approach to delivering these services throughout Lake County. In this
video, Lawlor and Garrett discuss the work of the coalition. Watch now
