Cedar Lake Road Realignment

The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) has been working with the Village of Round Lake toward a possible future realignment of Cedar Lake Road between Nippersink Road and Hart Road. At the October Lake County Board meeting, we approved a contract for preliminary engineering services which kicks off the Phase I Study to determine the preferred alignment. A Phase I Study is the planning stage, and it is during this stage that LCDOT will study environmental concerns, gather input from the public, and identify project alternatives. Phase I Studies typically kick-off with a Public Information Meeting where interested residents can learn more about the project, ask questions of the project study team, get an initial understanding of the project scope and timeline, and provide comments. The first public meeting will likely take place early next year, and I will provide the dates once it is scheduled.
