Budget Meetings and a Property tax hike!

I tried but was not able to get a consensus to freeze our property taxes for a second straight year. While I showed several places that excess funds exist to offset the revenues from increased property taxes, I wasn't able to convince my fellow members. My fellow Finance Committee folks held on tight to a .7% increase concerned about the reliability of the monies transferred to us by the State of Illinois. I am sure however that if the State comes up with the money they owe us that these Board Members will not be refunding the property tax dollars to you.

RECOMMENDED 2017 Lake County Budget - We will have a final vote at Finance at our November 2nd meeting recommending to the full Lake County Board at MY LAST MEETING, November 8th.
