Be a Couch Potato Voter in November and Vote by Mail

WAUKEGAN, Illinois – A large voter turnout is predicted for November's election, and this could result in long lines at the voting sites.  County Clerk Carla N. Wyckoff is encouraging all Lake County registered voters, including students away at school and traveling snowbirds to choose to vote by mail - you know - like a couch potato. This option allows any registered voter to receive and mark a ballot from the comfort of his or her own sofa.

It's simple to vote by mail. Complete the short required application form before November 3rd:

You only have to walk as far as your mailbox for your ballot and vote stress-free from your own couch. Mail your voted ballot back to the Clerk’s office with a postmark no later than end of the day on Election Day. You can track the Clerk’s receipt of your ballot at LakeVoterPower.info using the “Track My Ballot” feature.

When received by the Clerk’s office, all ballots voted by mail are cast in a ballot bin. According to legal requirements, these ballots are tabulated and reported only after the polls close on election night.

On November 8, confidently watch the election results knowing that your vote was cast and counted – and you didn’t have to stand in line to vote.
