Couples wishing to have a wedding or civil union ceremony performed by a Lake County judge will need to present the same valid identification twice. The first time is in the clerk’s office when applying for a license, and the second time is the day of the ceremony.
Each applicant’s first, middle, and last names can only be recorded on the marriage or civil union record as they are represented on the identification provided when the license is issued. Example: If an applicant wants to have a complete middle name shown on the license, identification must show a complete middle name.
For more information on ceremonies performed by a judge, visit the 19th Circuit Court website.

For the March primary, almost 4,440 Lake County residents waited until Election Day to register.
While it is a luxury for voters, same day registration created long lines at many voting sites. There’s no need to wait in line as voter registration is open most days of the year and is conveniently available in-person at many locations around the county, by mail, or online from anywhere.
Avoid waiting in line – get registered before November 8.

Duke, Dax, and Diesel have fur, four legs, a tail, and are the newest deputies of the Sheriff’s canine unit.
