North Shore Bike Path Resurfacing

Paving began this morning on Lake County Division of Transportation’s (LCDOT) North Shore Bike Path resurfacing project. Crews started near IL Rte 43 in Lake Forest and they will be making their way west toward Brice Ave in Mundelein over the next few weeks. While there may be temporary daily closures while they work on specific sections, the remainder of the bike path will remain open during the entire project. Questions can be directed to Joe Munno, LCDOT Resident Engineer 847-377-7400. Project Website

Village of Libertyville North Shore Bike Path/Sunnyside Avenue Drainage Improvements Project

The Village of Libertyville has begun a drainage improvement project near the North Shore Bike Path, just east of Fourth Avenue and north of the Sunnyside Avenue properties. They will be installing storm sewer, relocating the bike path, installing a drainage swale to move storm water west to east and other associated improvements. The intention of these improvements is to reduce the frequency of flooding during minor to moderate rain events, but it will not completely eliminate the possibility of flooding. The village is working with the Lake County Division of Transportation and the Stormwater Management Commission. Your questions, comments or concerns can be directed to the Libertyville Engineering Office at (847) 918-2100 or Chuck Bodden (Resident Engineer with Gewalt Hamilton Associates) at (847) 344-4501 between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
