Hello Neighbors
With each newsletter, it seems that I should add the famous TV pitchman line..."But wait --- there's MORE !!!"
Find fresh produce and interesting products at a local Farmers Market; join in the excitement of the Lake County Fair; confirm or challenge your property tax assessments . . . But WAIT, there's MORE. Here's news about a request for your input to the 2050 Comprehensive Plan, a meeting about extending the bike/hike path near Independence Grove. Of course the Lake County Forest Preserves District has fresh ideas, updates and invitations.
I've added several new links (parks and recreation districts) to the blue box at the bottom of this page. I hope you will find these to be helpful, along with the existing links to other taxing and servicing districts. What are your recommendations for additional links and information?
August weather has arrived ... in mid-July. Please stay cool, listen to the expert advice about sun, water, sunscreen and caution about pets and children in vehicles. Please contact me with your comments, questions and suggestions.

It's time to clean out your medicine cabinet and help save lives. Across the country, and in Lake County, families and communities face a growing problem with recreational and experimental drug use and the serious, growing drug addiction trend. Lake County, SWALCO,
and local law enforcement agencies have partnered in a program that allows people to
drop off controlled substances at local
police departments. These drugs often include opioids, such as
heroin, morphine, and prescription pain relievers. Watch our latest Dirty Jobs episode as
Lake County Board Chairman Aaron Lawlor participates in the delivery, sorting
and disposal process.

The purpose of the meeting is to present alternatives that were developed using stakeholder input from the first public information meeting.
