Dear Neighbors,
I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day. Our veterans need support year round, you can
check Lake County Veteran’s Services for information on additional services.
Summer in Lake County provides lots of activities. There is sure to be a Farmer’s Market near
you. Use the Lake County Health
Department Farmer’s Market Finder to locate one near you.
Of course good weather brings road construction too. You can keep up with the latest projects at
the Lake County DOT Construction update site. There are also some important
state projects in the planning stage.
You have until June 7 to comment on the different proposals for the Il
Rt. 83/137 study.
The Lake County Forest Preserve District and the Lake County
DOT bike trails offer you a great way to get around. Try some new trails this summer. I’m working on visiting every Forest Preserve
this year, why don’t you try a new preserve.
There’s lots to see. As you walk, bike and drive around Lake County, think about what you can do for our environment. Read below about what some of our communities are doing. Join them! Or if you want to go further afield, celebrate the centennial of our National Parks.
As always, I am happy to talk with you about these or any
issues. I can also come meet with your
Homeowner’s Association, School, scout, community or religious group. I can be reached at amaine@lakecountyil.gov or on my cell phone (847)857-1732.

be printed and sent via U.S. mail within 15 business days to the applicant's

Forest Preserve Board adopts reduced budget
To keep nearly 31,000 acres of forest preserves
in Lake County safe, clean and open for people to enjoy, the Lake County Forest
Preserve District Board of Commissioners
adopted a reduced fiscal year 2016-2017 budget at
their May meeting. The District's conservative budgeting approach has helped to
maintain its AAA bond rating, an achievement shared by only six forest
preserves and park districts in the nation. Learn more.
