 The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) is conducting a preliminary engineering study at the intersection of Fairfield and Monaville roads. The project will look at potential improvements to reduce congestion and improve safety at the intersection. The public is invited to attend a meeting to provide comments and learn more about the project. The meeting will be conducted in an informal, open house format, and guests may attend anytime between 5 and 7 p.m. Representatives from LCDOT and the County's consultant will be available to discuss the project and answer any questions.

The Illinois Department
of Transportation invites the public to an open house concerning the proposed
improvements planned along 11 miles of state roadways Illinois Route 83
(Milwaukee Avenue/Barron Boulevard) and Illinois Route 137 (Buckley Road). The
potential improvements would impact sections within villages of Lake

Once considered a rare illness in Lake County, Lyme
disease is becoming more common in the area. The Lake County Health Department Community
Health Center offers tips to help residents take precautions against
ticks.

2. Wear light-colored, protective clothing, such as long-sleeved shirts, long
trousers, boots or sturdy shoes, and a head
covering

conduct of all elections by processing voters in the voting sites. Each judge
must be a Lake County registered voter and fluently read and write English.
Required training is free and is offered at convenient locations
and times. Election judge pay is determined by level of training completed and
assignment.

Forest Preserve Board adopts reduced budget To keep nearly 31,000 acres of forest preserves in Lake County safe, clean and open for people to enjoy, the Lake County Forest Preserve District Board of Commissioners adopted a reduced fiscal year 2016-2017 budget at their May meeting. The District's conservative budgeting approach has helped to maintain its AAA bond rating, an achievement shared by only six forest preserves and park districts in the nation. Learn more.
