Friends and Neighbors,

Preserve Volunteers

We had a very special presentation at this months Forest Preserve board meeting recognizing some of the many volunteers who donate their time to our many different preserves and events here in Lake County. I would personally like to point out a few of our local residents Like Joyce and George Proper of

Lake Villa who have been volunteering for 21 years and Don Wilson from Lindenhurst who tops the list with 31 years of volunteer service.

We have amazing volunteers, who combined, donated nearly 44,000 hour of service in 2015 alone! You cannot put a dollar value on the time and hard work that they have put into our preserves, their work is  priceless. I just want to say thank you for being and example for the rest of us.

Lake Villa Township also held their Senior New Years Extravaganza which is always a fun event. This years theme was Dan's Caribbean Cruise Line. As usual many township officials and residents dressed appropriately as seen below. Supervisor Dan Venturi always does and outstanding job hosting these community events and has a lot of great volunteers.

I am looking forward to a great year here in Lake County!

Respectfully,

Tom Weber

Lake County is part of a multi-jurisdictional team that is working on a major initiative to improve communications interoperability. Watch this video to learn more.
