Lake Michigan Water Project Update: December 2015

A significant amount of planning and design work has been taking place to bring Lake Michigan Water to the Villages of Lake Villa and Lindenhurst and to Lake County's Grandwood Park and Fox Lake Hills water systems.

Easement acquisition is still in progress for the project and if the water main needs to travel through your property you will be contacted.  The firm coordinating easement acquisition is Land Acquisitions, Inc. located in Buffalo Grove.

Property taxes for properties within Special Service Area #16 will be increasing in 2016 to reflect the bulk of the Lake Michigan Water Project costs.  The tax for a property valued at $200,000 will be approximately $230 for the year.

The project has been divided into four separate bid packages. The first package is out for bid, with the bid opening set for January 22, 2016.

If you are interested in bidding on the project, contact CDM Smith Inc. at 312-346-5000.
