The cool weather has crept in and Fall is upon us. To most people Fall is just another season but to me it means Lake County budget time! I have been very busy reading the budget books and in joint budget meetings. We have had many great discussions and I believe we have a great plan for 2016. The County Budget is $7 million and we are holding the line on property taxes by freezing our property tax levy. |

My wife Becki and I were able to complete our last harvest of the year last weekend from our garden. It has been a good year and we took advantage of the beautiful weather to get out and enjoy many of our local venues and try and capture some of the beauty of District 3!
|
As I was driving around the district I saw many awesome decorations for Halloween but I had to get pictures of these two homes in Lake Villa almost across the street from each other. If you get the opportunity drive on down to the end of Walden Lane and check out these 2 homes. |

As some may know, the past few months have been difficult for my family with my mother becoming very ill and passing away. I wanted to say thank you for those who sent their condolences. My family and I appreciate it very much.
Thank you for allowing me to represent you on the Lake County Board and Forest Preserve District.
Your Representative,
Tom Weber

 Lake County recently
celebrated the completion of the single largest construction project in LCDOT's
history as the grade separation and intersection improvement at Rollins Road
and IL Route 83 is complete. I want to give a big thank you to the residents
and local businesses who showed patience and understanding throughout this
process. Take a moment to watch this video of the Rollins Gateway
celebration to learn more about how this project has improved transportation in
our area.

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has closed Grand Avenue (IL 132) to traffic west of Fairfield Road in Lake Villa through May 2016 for a reconstruction project. A detour will be posted. Westbound traffic will be routed to Fairfield Road, Monaville Road, and Illinois 59 to reconnect with Grand Avenue. Eastbound traffic will follow the reverse route. In this installment of Lake County’s Dirty Jobs
- which takes you behind the scenes of some of Lake County government’s dirty
and difficult jobs – we go to Winthrop Harbor with the Lake County Division of

The County Board will vote on the 2016 budget next
week. The budget allocates $414 million to core services, such as the
courts and public safety, transportation, and health services. Our budget is
balanced and is $7 million less than last year, and our total number of
employees is down 13% from a decade ago. If approved by the full Board, the
County’s tax levy on existing properties will remain flat. (As a reminder, the
County’s portion of a property tax bill is about 7%). Lake County is fiscally stable
due to the Board’s focus on strategic, long-term, data-driven decisions and the
Board’s commitment to fiscal responsibility. We continue to invest in our
infrastructure like roads, and focus on operational efficiencies, including
sharing services with other governments. We are also using data to align
operational staffing levels to amount of workload. The uncertainty of the State
budget and potential State funding cuts continue to place significant pressure
on our budget. Read
the FY 2016 Recommended Budget.
Lindenhurst has begun its semi-annual water

of hydrant locations, visit www.lindenhurstil.org/hydrantflushing. For information, contact Village Hall at (847)

When you call 911,
you may not think about all that goes on behind the scenes. What you don't
see is that depending on where you call from, your 911 call could go to
one of 19 dispatching centers across the county. Over the last several years,
Lake County along with fire, police, municipal and other public safety leaders
have been discussing opportunities to consolidate many centers into a few
regional 911 centers. A newly created task force has met for the first
time to advance this initiative. More Info

Water
from rain, melting snow or ice is constantly moving through watersheds making
its ways to our lakes and streams. Since this water doesn’t know jurisdictional
boundaries, leaders work together on a countywide approach to manage stormwater
and mitigate flooding, as well as protect and restore the environment. In
this County Update, learn more about our Stormwater Management Commission and
projects underway across the county. Watch now |
